Visit Long Point State Park on Lake Chautauqua
Long Point State Park on Lake Chautauqua is located on a short peninsula on the east side of the lake. It was first created in 1956 and is open all year-round. This is a day-use park only, meaning there’s no camping permitted. It spreads out over 320 acres and includes picnic pavilions, a public boat launch, and a marina with a restaurant. There’s plenty to do at the park, from hiking and biking to fishing and swimming.
Boating is one of the most popular activities at the park. The marina has docking sites and pump-out stations. It’s open from mid-May to early October. They do not have boats for rent at the state park, however. You can visit Chautauqua Marina if you’d like to rent a boat for a couple of hours. They have power boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats, pedal boats, and skis and tubes available for rent. Once you get on the water, you can take advantage of the abundance of bass, perch, pike, and other types of fish available on the lake.
Biking is another popular activity both within the town of Chautauqua and in Long Point State Park on Lake Chautauqua. If you don’t have a bicycle or didn’t bring one with you, no problem!
